THE RISE IN FAKE RELIGIOUS LEADERS

The number of registered churches in Nigeria today according to the Financial Reporting Council in Nigeria is 23,216. Note that these churches have branches spread across Nigeria.  There may be over 2,000,000 documented or undocumented church branches in Nigeria.  Add to this, all the mosques and undocumented religious houses all over Nigeria, we may be talking of 5,000,000. It calls for concern.  Our major business in Nigeria presently is religion of faith marketing, yet this business is tax free and enjoys free entry.  Juxtapose this with the production base in Nigeria, and see why we are a poor nation with all form of recession. Last year, they are just slightly about 1,000 manufacturing companies still hanging out there in Nigeria. Many of them are threatening closure. Some of the old factory premises have been converted to churches and mosques. It is sad.                                              These companies who produce what we eat and use in this country pay tax and go through the harrowing experience to do business.  They cannot afford the Limousines, Rolls Royce, Luxury homes and private planes that this faith leaders use, yet they are the ones that pay tax which we use to build roads that these faith preachers travel on. We have got many things wrong in this country.   Faith without work and expecting a miracle is a mirage and definitely a waste of time.  There is time to have a personal relationship with God and also focus on productive work. Judging from all perspectives, all I can say is that these so called pastors as I would like to call them yahoo boys because they are feeding themselves from your tithes and offering.  They are building mansions, buying exotic cars like Rolls Royce, Bentley, Limousines, Ferrari and Porsche…..and so on, flying on chartered and owning private jets in and out of the country, flaunting bags of dollars and expensive dresses. These are people who own private universities and 90% of its members cannot even afford the application form. They collect tuition fees of almost five hundred thousand naira for  just a semester of study, yet they are not the best students in Nigeria.                                                       When will the Nigerian sheep wake up from their slumber to know that these Yahoo boys are just reaping them off?. When will they realize that that many of these yahoo boys pastors have nothing else to give to them other than for them to collect their hard earned money?. When will they understand that these Yahoo boys are just there to feed on them?. A nation with more churches than companies. The funniest thing about the sheep is that they are ready to defend their pastors at all cost and even fight when someone constructively criticizes them. If they put that much effort they use in defending their pastors into thinking creatively and innovations, Nigeria would be a better place.    

South Korea got her independence in 1957, the same year Ghana got her own. Now compare the level of growth and economic development between the two countries. You would see that S. Korea is many many years ahead of Ghana. S. Korea by nature is not a Christian country and do not have oil, but now, they are the world leaders of electronics as we have reputable companies like Samsung, Kia, Hyundai and the rest. Development of a country does not come by having 3 churches in the same street. It comes with constant work, growth of SMEs, and sustainable government policies, policies that attracts investment (foreign and local), and employing labor. 

We need to set our priority right in this country and do the right thing.  A word is enough for the wise.

The human cost of war: Image of bewildered Syrian boy rescued.

 Images of a five year old Syrian boy - covered in dust and blood after being plucked from a bombed out building - have gone viral after they were posted to social media, provoking widespread outrage and upset.
It showed the aftermath of an air strike in the city of Aleppo and encapsulated the human toll of Syria's five-year war.
A video posted online by the Aleppo Media Center, shows a stunned and weary looking boy, sitting alone and bewildered on an orange chair inside an ambulance shortly after he was rescued.
Khaled Khaled, an Aleppo-based member of the Syrian Civil Defense, a volunteer rescue group that operates in rebel-held territory, identified the boy as five-year-old Omran Daqneesh.
The boy was later rushed by members of the group, also known as the White Helmets, to a nearby hospital.
In a video of a chaotic nighttime scene, a man is seen carrying the boy from the rubble of an unidentified building and carrying him to the ambulance, the five year old's expression dazed and flat-eyed.
The boy then runs a hand over his blood-covered face, looks at the blood and wipes his hands on the ambulance chair. He does not cry or make a sound.

UN special envoy Staffan de Mistura estimated in April. that at least 400,000 people had been killed in Syria in a five-year-long war that has uprooted nearly half of the country's population.

" POVERTY MENTALITY "

Well  are we Nigerians,  going to celebrate  real achievements?

On the left is Mr Ayodele Daniel Dada, the first Nigerian to finish with a perfect CGPA 5.0 and on the left is Mrs Olajumoke Orisaguna  'a former bread seller'. Before Ayodele, no one has EVER finished with a perfect CGPA in UNILAG!!!.  Since it was established in 1992, he made history by becoming the first to achieve such commendable feat.
Now so many questions comes to mind. How come my dear friend Kunbi of 'April with Kunbi' hasn't styled him or recommended him for styling? How come CNN hasn't done a story on him? How come his life isn't documented on blogs daily? How come he isn't a brand ambassador of any product or Company? The questions are ceaseless. Ciara arrived Lagos and puts up a post of an equally beautiful hawkers selling some types of fruit two days ago,  and she was described in Ciara own word "Beautiful and talented"
If these two hawkers beauties were discovered less than two months apart, it means that beautiful girls that hawk commodities aren't in short supply in Lagos. While people that finish with CGPA 5.0 are almost non existent, it took 54 years to produce the first one.
While Olajumoke and this other lady are rough stones that could be polished, Ayodele is a true Jewel, a rare yellow diamond in its truest and purest form. Let us not let our 'poverty mentality', that make things of lesser importance seem valuable, and cloud our sense of judgment. I have no objections to polishing and stones to bring out their shine, but please let's not do it at the expense of gems of inestimable value! The outcome of our future depends on 'what' or 'whom' we invest in. If Japan Switzerland and America invested their time and money in pretty bread sellers, we won't have the brains behind the aeronautic, automotive, horological or financial achievements today. I'm not saying we shouldn't celebrate Olajumoke, but we should celebrate Ayodele first.
We need to set the things that most matter to this country first. 'Education'.
